Aupiki Group Travel

Group travel is at the heart of what we do. Since launching as New Zealand’s first Māori-owned Travel Management Company, we’ve built deep expertise coordinating complex, multi-leg journeys for Iwi organisations, sporting codes, cultural groups, health sector teams, NGOs, and business delegations. We manage every detail — flights, accommodation, ground transfers, supplier payments, and duty of care — so your people can focus on why they’re travelling, not how they’re getting there.

Our strongest relationships are across the Pacific — Fiji, Rarotonga, Australia and Samoa — where we hold contracted rates with leading resorts and work with trusted destination partners who know how to host New Zealand groups with genuine warmth. Whether you’re competing at an international event, attending a global forum, or leading a trade delegation, we’ll get your group there well looked after.

Are you ready to get your next group trip sorted? Let us help you.

Ngā pātai motuhake

A group is made up of 10 or more people travelling on the same itinerary. If you’re coordinating travel for a defined collective — a kapa haka, a sports team, an Iwi delegation, a school trip, or a whānau heading away – that’s group travel.

Group airlines rates are generally more expensive than what’s online at the time of booking. This is due to the flexibility provided by airlines to allow deposit payments with delayed final payment.  Group airline bookings also allow you to hold seats without having the final traveller names confirmed.

Where the request isn’t too complex, our team will assist in pulling together one free-of-charge quote. Any significant re-quoting requests may incur a quoting fee and will be advised by your consultant.

We are able to confirm a group booking with an upfront deposit payment. The final payment amount will be due at a later date. Both deposit and final payment dates will be advised by your travel consultant.

This largely depends on supplier requirements (e.g. Airlines and Hotels). However, a general rule of thumb would be no less than 60-days prior to travel.

We take care of everything from flights, accommodation, rental vehicles, transfers, insurance, activities and more. Get in touch with us to sense-check some of the things you’re wanting to do on your haerenga.

Yes! We’ve organised delegations all over the world, including USA, Canada, Japan, China, Australia and more.  Our team will work with you to design the delegates package and experience. Once that’s confirmed, we will consolidate this into a single package, ready for sale to your prospective delegates.

This is a tricky one.  Some airlines allow us to split off passengers and make changes. However, some are quite strict and don’t allow any changes once your flights have been ticketed. We prefer using specific airlines for this very reason – to allow you the flexibility to make changes as required.  However, this is not always possible or the cheapest option.  Speak to us about your flexibility needs and we will advise accordingly.

Yes, we can work with you to ensure your entire group is insured. Please discuss this with your travel consultant.

Rawe! Our group booking process is simple:

  1. Complete the contact form on our contact page.
  2. Our team will be in touch with you to gather more information on your haerenga
  3. We will prepare a free-of-charge indicative range for you. This will give you a price range and enough information to decide whether the trip is feasible.
  4. If you’re happy with the indicative range, we will move to provide a full group booking proposal. This incurs a $250.00 service fee which will be reduced from the total trip cost if it moves ahead.  If any changes are required, these will be charged at a small service fee of $100.00 per change.
  5. Once you’re happy with the contents of the full proposal, we will confirm your haerenga and work alongside you right up until travel time.
